I'd rather buy regular R and out rally tower, scott damper, akra and still left money. yea rally version has more travel on suspension with pro That first review is really good. Not a sponsored review bs video. Hope 21 ktm really fixed what he mentioned.
The tenere sounds amazing, and that engine is a real gem offroad, but you will have to sink a lot of cash into protection and suspension to get anywhere near the feel and capability of a ktm/husky equivalent, to the point you might be bummed you ended up paying the same money for a bike that doesn’t have cruise control, quick shifting
The new Aprilia Tuareg 660 and the now well-seated Yamaha Ténéré 700 are what we believe to be two of the most closely matched middleweight adventure machines on the market at this point. Yes, the Aprilia in this test carries a $2,300 premium compared to the $10,299 Ténéré, but it does bring with it a host of electronic upgrades that make
The KTM 790 Adventure R and Yamaha Tenere 700 arrived within a year of each other but are very different motorcycles. YAMAHA TENERE 700 A mid-sized adventure bike from Yamaha was long overdue. If you check back, Yamaha was in this game back in the late ’80s, long before most other manufacturers.
Yes, I know the 690 is lighter and more powerful. How much worse does it do on the highway compared to the T7? With a windshield it might hold it’s on on the highway for those weekend trips Any help appreciated! On a 500 Beta RS right now and don’t want to commute on it. The new 690 is supposed to be sweet.
I was watching Dave Lomax's (Adventure Spec) videos on youtube where he talks about the Tenere 700 and 450L taken on pretty identical long distance trips to Morocco, with about equal road and dirt, and he preferred the 450l and wouldn't take the Tenere 700 again.

The OP can get a new KLR with rear rack, engine guards, aux. lighting, side racks, USB and 12 volt outlets and panniers for $8000.00. A basic Tenere would cost $10,000.00 and you would spend more than another $1000.00 to get all the mods the stock top fo the line KLR comes with. If money were no object I would opt for the Tenere myself.

BBB #10: Yamaha Ténéré 700 T7 and KTM 690 - compare and contrast. In a bumper 10th episode, we find out how easy it is to pick up a T7 and a highly modified KTM 690. We also ask die-hard
The only place I have found them to be truly lacking, was at around 13000' of elevation. They get a little wheezy, and require the rider to keep momentum and stay in the meat of the powerband. They cruise at 60-65, and get 90mpg. A 690 is a lot more fun getting from 0 to 65 mph though! #67. Wetfeet likes this.
From the uncomplicated, manually adjustable suspension to the complete absence of any electronic rider controls save for basic ABS, there’s a simplicity and clarity about the 700 that is very appealing. If you want a show pony then look elsewhere, the new Ténéré is as it always was, a capable and functional workhorse.
